Recap of UGTL Pre-Reg Tournament

Unofficially dubbed UGTL 4.5, this half-size house tourney brought in a few local players and a good groups of friends. People started trickling in at Bmarq's house around 2pm... so much for starting on time, eh? While the actual start time got pushed back, those already hanging out enjoyed casual SF4 matches, homebrewed hip hop produced by Lucid, foodfoodfood, and beer. $10 got you registered, and everything else was free... so if you decided to sleep in, you missed out!

The number of pre-registered entrants dropped from 32 to 18 at start time, so the tourney got knocked out pretty quick. Let's just talk about the juicy stuff: Combojack's Sagat was smashing fools left and right until OnlineTony's Seth dropped him into the loser's bracket. There he faced Sam, and was then defeated by Hugo's M.Bison giving him 4th Place...  a head bashing via folded chair almost occured (holy crap! of course it was jokes). WhaWhat's Chun Li defeated Hugo in the quarter finals, but after after losing to OnlineTony he faced Hugo again and wasn't able to overcome the dictator, landing him 3rd Place. Hugo coming up from the loser's bracket to face OnlineTony was a seriously intense matchup. Both very skilled players duked it out for best 3 of 5. Even though M.Bison's got tricks, Seth kept faking the dictator out with the (might as well have been) full screen Dalsim-punches, chipping away M.Bison's health leaving Hugo in 2nd and OnlineTony in 1st.
